• Must be willing to make a serious commitment to the work of a library trustee

• Serves on committees when appointed.

• Abide by majority decisions reached by the board and publicly supports these decisions.

• Adhere to the code of ethics, conflict of interest policy, and bylaws.

• Set library policy.

• Employ and evaluate the library director.

• Exercise fiduciary responsibility in using both public and private funds.

• Commit time to assist with events.

• Participate in a minimum of two hours of continuing education each year
