A Spooktacular Painting Experience!
The Fairview Public Library invites community members to bask in the dusky dreaminess of autumn during the dog days of summer at a FREE Paint & Sip event on August 21st from 5:00–7:00 PM at the library, located at 43 Walnut Street, Margaretville, NY.
This fun and relaxed evening will celebrate creativity and community as we look forward to crisp air, playful breezes, luscious harvest aromas lacing the air, and the excitement of dressing up for Halloween. Participants of all skill levels are encouraged to attend—no prior painting experience is necessary. A library staff member will guide attendees step-by-step through creating a beautiful dark academia-style painting. While instruction will be provided, each participant will create a unique, one-of-a-kind piece in their own personal style.
Complimentary snacks and bottled water will be available. Attendees are welcome to bring a beverage of their choice (BYOB). Guests who choose to bring wine or other alcoholic beverages are kindly reminded to arrange for a designated driver.
The event is designed to offer a welcoming space for community members to socialize, unwind, and express their creativity in a supportive environment.

Book Club
The FPL Book Club meets on Zoom on the 4th Thursday of the month. Please note, the date is changed occasionally due to holidays. The book for each month is available on the event calendar. Mah Jongg
Fiber Arts Club
Bring your own fiber arts project and join us as we all work together in a relaxed atmosphere and meet other makers. All are welcome, beginner to expert. There will be no formal instruction but we are happy to help if we can! We usually meet on the second Tuesday from 6 to 8 pm and the fourth Saturday from 10 am to noon but please check the calendar to confirm. Or call the library at 845-586-3791 for more information.
Spooky Summerween
In lieu of our usual Summer Reading, we are going to be hosting a Spooky Summerween! We’re bringing the thrills and chills of Halloween to this summer’s heat. Our first event for adults and teens will be creating “Fairy” faux taxidermy as shown at the top of this page.
